Back around the middle of 2025, our friends at Home Hearing Records reached out to let us know that submissions were open for a forthcoming compilation album. Great timing for us, since our next scheduled release – a dreamy, heartsick tune called Fantasy – was in the final stages of production. We jumped on the chance, finished off the song and were thrilled to see it in the #2 spot on the “Adventures in Sound Vol 2” collection!
Here’s what we said about the song in the liner notes…
Fantasy is a reflective break-up story that grapples with time passing and learning to accept life without the one constant presence through hardship.
It’s the usual jumble of acoustic and electric guitars, piano, synth, drums and glockenspiel, and vocal harmonies layered on thick. Recorded by us in our home studios, mixed by the legend Luke Woollett and mastered by Simon Dennes at the label. Great jobs all round.
The album was released today and is streaming in all the usual places, so please go and have a listen and consider buying it from Bandcamp.
Amazing album cover art by JUZA. Thanks to Simon for the opportunity and support, and for taking on the presumably pretty tough job of running a small indie label in this day and age!
